The 2009 Deer Hunters Roundup Details

The Original (and still the best) Deer Hunters Roundup (DHR) is aired nightly November 14th through the 30th. A Rangeland tradition brought to you by Stormy Kromer - the genuine article, and Miller High Life. The DHR is heard on WIMI and WJMS at 5:30pm nightly during the Michigan and Wisconsin gun deer seasons. Call in your deer kill information or messages to (906) 932-2411 Mon.-Sun. 9am - 4pm, email them to wjmswimi@chartermi.net or fax to (906) 932-2485. (no show on Thanksgiving)

2009 DHR CONTESTS

 

YOUTH HUNTER

Winner will be chosen in a random drawing from all youth hunter deer kill called in and registered by November 30th. Youth division is for those 16 and under. The winner will receive a gift certificate from NORTH FORK TAXIDERMY OF BUTTERNUT for a Full shoulder mount.

CONGRATS to Zac Kavinski fo Ironwood, winner of the Youth division. Zac's 5 point, 165lb. deer will soon be up on a wall thanks to North Fork Taxidermy of Butternut.

 

ADULT HUNTER

Winner will be determined from a random drawing from all ADULT hunters (17 and older) deer kill SIX POINTS AND LARGER that are called in and registered by November 30th. Winner will receive a certificate for a full shoulder mount from HANSON TAXIDERMY of Ironwood.

CONGRATS to Joe Verbos of Bessemer, winner of the Adult division. Joe bagged an 8 point, 130lb. deer and will get a full shoulder mount thanks to Hanson Taxidermy of Ironwood.

 

WHITETAILS UNLIMITED GUN CONTEST

Winner will be determined in a random drawing from all deer kill called in and registered by November 30th. Winner will receive a Traditions Thunderbolt .50 calibur Black Powder Rifle, which is on display at Cary Mine Convenience. This is a limited edition gun with Whitetails Unlimited medallion in the stock…Sponsored by Whitetails Unlimited, Cary Mine convenience BP & WJMS-WIMI

CONGRATS to Harry Thewis of Mellen, winner of the Whitetails Unlimited .50 calibur Black Powder Rifle. Harry had one of the biggest deer kills called into the Roundup, an 11 point, 185lb. monster!

 

WHITETAILS UNLIMITED STATUE CONTEST

Anyone can register- entry box at Cary Mine Convenience on Hwy. 77 in Hurley to win a Whitetails Unlimited Bronze Stature of a non-typical whitetail buck…there will be a winner drawn daily beginning 11/16 (14 in all) and read during the DHR.

SIX PACK SALUTE

Winner determined at the end of every show…most "points" called in from any one camp. Winning camp receives a LIVE "Six Pack Salute", a signed "Frame-able" certificate. Sponsored by our official beer of the DHR, MILLER HIGH LIFE.
